Bridlington+wolds mmoc rally sewerby hall 29/30 july 2006 Well our first rally as a new club seems to have been a great success. Those who camped from Friday night till Sunday had a great time together, the setting looked great among the trees.Jean+I joined them on Saturday morning and met a group of happy campers all very friendly and enjoying the atmosphere. The weather was exceptionally kind to us as we set about organising the field for the event .Paul did us proud with the excellent signs he produced which I’m sure will last us for some years to come,he’s a great help to the club as is everone who’s been involved with this rally, sue ,chris,Maurice, jean, sheena ,jacky+graham, not forgetting our famous band members kev,Richard,+the two colins also the help from other club members especially chris+kieth for the cake.Later in the day the usual bar-bq was lit and food and wine was passed around ,I unfortunately could’nt join in the drinking,us drugies have to just sit and watch. However the night passed on and everyone seemed to be enjoying the fun as Jean+I said farewell +headed for home. On Sunday ,the day of the rally ,we arrived bright and early, the sun shining after a shower of rain through the night. There seemed to be a few thick heads this morning but everone was up and about doing their bit.The cars started arriving about 10am until aprox 1pm and we amassed around 40 cars which was pleasing and will surely be bettered next year.Other events in the next field helped the atmosphere on the day with an American classic car show with bouncy castles, cheer girls parades and many things to do for the families,we even had a fool with a punch and judy show entertaining the children on our pitch. The day stayed gloriously fine and went off better than we expected, we even enjoyed the great music of TEAMWORK thanks ,kev Richard,colin+colin-also we picked up two new members which can’t be bad. Thanks to sheena, jacky,+her family for their great effort with the tombola and also once again for the famous bar-bq Maurice+jean so kindly supply and feed everyone from,it must cost them a fortune.Sadly it all came to an end but some great reports came through of how people enjoyed the weekend-Many thanks to everone. Jean+norman Our 2007 event is Fri 27th, Sat 28th & Sun 29th July |
