The Tal-y-llyn Railway’s Tom Rolt Rally & Autojumble 2008

Sunday & Monday May 25th & 26th May ( Spring Bank Holiday )

The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club are proud to have been asked by the Tal-y-llyn Railway to organise All vehicle and Autojumble entries for the 2008 Tom Rolt Rally which is held each year at The Merioneth County Show Field, Tywyn, Gwynedd. We have been given a clean sheet to organise the Vintage, Classic & Custom Vehicle Section in any way we like to make this the biggest and best rally yet. Space is not a problem as we have a lovely big show field close to the town to fill.

We would like to make this event one for all clubs whether car motor cycle or light commercial can come along free of charge and have as big a display as you wish to promote your club and use our arena to talk about your vehicles and your club. If you wish to have an area rally or even your national event for your club as part of our rally as the C.O.O.C. do each year, you will be very welcome

Of course individual entries will be of equal importance and we would like to invite owners of any classic, vintage or custom car, motorcycle, light commercial or any other interesting vehicle to join us.

We are looking to expand the Autojumble side of the show and All vehicle related stalls will be Free of charge. Clubs may sell regalia relating to your vehicles and vehicle owners may sell spares from their car boot.

There will be free camping on the rally field on Saturday and Sunday Evening with a licensed bar on both Evenings. All entrants will receive free travel on the Tal-y-llyn Railway during the rally weekend and awards will be given to best in show, furthest distance travelled and best club display.

The area is one of outstanding natural beauty and the journey to Tywyn from all directions very scenic. I hope you would like to be part of this great weekend and bring the family. Those with small children might like to know the Tal-y-llyn Railway was the basis for many of the ever-popular Thomas the Tank Engine Stories.

Please tell your friends with cars, motorcycles and light commercials in fact any interesting vehicles about this event. The more of you join us the bigger and better the event and the more fun we will have.

For those wanting B&B or Guest House Accommodation a list is available on receipt of your completed entry form.

The Cambridge-Oxford Owners Club and Tal-y-llyn Railway would like to make this rally the biggest Vintage, Classic & Custom Car and Motor Cycle event in Mid Wales. All we need now is you to join us with your Vintage, Classic & Custom Cars, Motor Cycles, light Commercials, Classic Campers, Caravans and Autojumble Stalls. We will provide the venue, the facilities , the glorious surroundings and marshal the event but without you and your cherished vehicles we cannot achieve our aim.  Please pass on details to any one who may be interested.
