SUE’S SCRIBBLES - June 2009

Hi Guy’s

We had a very pleasant day out at the Northern Regional Rally at the end of last month. This was held at Eden Camp near Malton in North Yorkshire. It was organised this year by the Yorvik branch, but the two members of the branch that put the whole thing together Cathryn and Malcolm Howard deserve most of the praise for all their hard work in pulling it all together on the day. The weather was exceptionally good so this made it even better (I’m sure there will have been some serious sunburns that night)!

We had five cars from our branch go along to enjoy the day, although Norman and Jean who have just acquired a 20 year old Figaro were relegated to the main car park for not being classed as a classic for some reason………

The turn out of cars was really good this year, it was nice to catch up with the North East Lancashire crew who had stayed over at a B&B in Malton and from all accounts had had a very lively night!!! Lancashire branch were also represented by Steve Rose.

This was the first real Concours event of the year. We have a new Judging Team lead by Richard Lee who I’m sure a lot of you will have met either at last years National Rally (Richard was in charge of the ‘Horse Shoe’) or at the NEC MM Stand in Birmingham.

We also attended Major Bridge Park a couple of weeks ago, this was also another glorious day lets hope we can keep up with the good weather, Chris and I took the Morris Commercial Lorry, I must admit it got a lot of interest.

Instead of the usual meeting tonight we are going on a run through the countryside ending in a fish and chip supper.

Next month Ian is hopefully organising one of his quiz nights so start revising every subject you can think of!!

Sue, Pebbles  xx
